Round 2 of the national draft has wrapped up with no real trend yet to suggest whether clubs are going for youth or experience as a general pattern.
"Most clubs will obviously be drafting for their own needs to balance where their current list stands" said Pirates Coach Ash Dumesny.
"We were fairly happy with our list on the whole last year, and only lost a few to retirement, some of which were fringe players, so their departure has not left a great hole in our list to begin with".
"That fact has allowed us to stock pile a bit of youth for the future when our next batch of veterans are in their twilight years. In a perect world you would love to keep that rolling in a circle of life type of list management plan but its not always that simple"
"Take this drug saga for instance, we have luckily only been minorly effected by the verdict in comparison to other clubs who have been effected differently whether it be by the loss of more top end tallent or sheer volume of players that they will have to cover during that time"
